New Blog Series: Canine Archetypes

“There’s a part of every living thing that wants to become itself... the tadpole into the frog, the chrysalis into the butterfly, a damaged human being into a whole one. That is spirituality.” - Ellen Bass

We can learn so much from dogs. Dogs seek simply to occupy the space they were meant to exist in. They are present, intuitive, connected beings that have a marvelous ability to live in the simple pleasure of each moment. Dogs interact with one another, the world around them, and humans using a language of energy and unspoken feeling. We can learn a lot from dogs.

Over the years, I’ve come to realize that much like people, dogs have their own individual personality types that influence how they interact with life. A fascinating mix of breed characteristics, early life experiences, socialization, and learned behaviors create these “Canine Archetypes”.

For our first blog series, Mutt Matchmaker will begin to explore these Canine Archetypes” with the goal of understanding why some dogs fit better in certain homes than others. The Mutt Matchmaker philosophy is centered around the idea that preparation and education are the keys to success when it comes to adopting a new dog, so check out each Canine Archetype and see which one feels right to you!
